Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga. Typically, the first part of the class is done seated with breathing exercises, stretching, and strengthening the upper body. Then students do standing poses using the chair for support. We finish by sitting in the chair, doing more stretches, and ending with a few minutes of stillness. Chair yoga classes are designed to support healthy aging and/or recovery from injury or illness.
Chair yoga is an ideal class if you:
- are new to yoga
- have trouble getting up and down off of the floor
- want to build strength, flexibility, and balance
